Is The Hoodia- Oprah Connection Really a Myth ?

Well, Is the Hoodia- Oprah connection really a myth ? OR …
Are the “false” Oprah claims really that false ? I’m not that certain and this is exactly why.
Hoodia and The False Oprah Claims , Reconsidered.
This is how the story goes:
There is a “myth” going around on the Internet regarding Hoodia Gordonii . The “myth” claims that Oprah Winfrey endorses Hoodia but like I said it false, it’s a myth it’s plain and simply not true. Or maybe, not. Maybe there is some truth behind the “false claim that Oprah Winfrey endorses Hoodia Gordonii”. Welcome to Hoodia-Oprah re-thought.
What is the Oprah connection ? Or I should say, is there any Hoodia and Oprah Winfrey connection at all ?
Here’s what I’ve found.
I went to take a look at her website to check if she really endorses Hoodia Gordonii. My results ? I’m skeptical about the whole thing, and this is why.

In the beginning she starts off as follows:
Deep in the heart of Southern Africa’s Kalahari Desert may lie the secret to weight loss… but then in middle she continues like this:
So far, however, there’s little proof that the supplements are even mildly effective: Most contain only small, probably insignificant levels of Hoodia extract…
See the paradox ? At first I was little lost here. Does Oprah Winfrey endorse Hoodia Gordonii or does she think there’s little hope for the drug to an effective weight loss supplement ?
As I was surfing the web I saw a particular web master making the claim that there is no proof that Oprah Winfrey endorses Hoodia Gordonii. He brought these sentences as a reference to support his claim. (Ironically he was selling Hoodia himself, on his website).
Is this correct proof ?
I think we should carefully read the text again with a closer look to reveal the real truth behind this claim if Oprah Winfrey endorses Hoodia Gordonii?
In the beginning she starts off ” Deep in the heart of Southern Africa’s Kalahari Desert may lie the secret to weight loss” So far sounds like she really thinks the secret weapon to weight loss was spotted in Africa’s Kalahari Desert. No ?
But then she continues that theirs little evidents… Does that mean she doesn’t think Hoodia Gordonii has the potential for solving our weight loss problem? But then again, in the opening it sounded like she does endorse it. What’s going on ? Is it a contradiction ? Nope it’s not.
Oprah Winfrey wrote specifically that the “type of Hoodia” that are mildly effective are those that contain little amounts if the supplement. Does that mean the Real and Pure Supplement isn’t effective? How does Hoodia go from being the “secret weapon to weight loss and obesity” to “not effective at all” (or mildly effective). That would be a steep fall. In my opinion it makes more sense to say that it’s what type of Hoodia that’s mildly effective. It’s the one that doesn’t contain Hoodia Gordonii at all- as she states in her article. (which is by the way most of them, since most of Hoodia Gordonii sold are scams )
While I’m not writing this as a conclusive opinion I definitely see two sides to the argument and it makes lot of sense that there is a Oprah Winfrey- Hoodia connection (Yes, I know it’s contrary to popular opinion).

What’s your opinion on the matter ? I’d love to hear from you ! All ears are wide open. So please take a moment to comment below. Thanks and have a great day !
